Journal Entry
So far my city is going well. I just setting up my grid pattern and are about to put in my power plant and zones. I made sure the I didn't have little lakes all over the place because they got in the way of my grid pattern. Even though I could've just bull dozed it over. Unlike my practice city, I'm making this one ALOT better.
Three cities that follow a grid pattern: Milwaukee, WI; New York City, NY; Miami FL
Three cities that don't follow a grid pattern: Rome, Italy; Venice, Italy; Tokyo, Japan
Day 2
Journal Entry
Today my city was failing BIG time. I kept raising my taxes and it got like $200 from it but then I started losing money. So I decided to destroy 2 of my 3 police stations, both of my fire departments, and 2 of my 3 hospitals. After that I started gaining about $100 a year. Then all of a sudden my power plant blew up. The funny thing about that is it blew up some of my water pumps and my last hospital. I feel bad about those poor patients. (not really hahahahahaha) I was so mad because all I had was $2000. For some reason all of my buildings didn't have power but they were still making money. I managed to gain $2000 and I bought a new power plant and now my city is all good.

Day 3
Journal entry
Today my city was doing good. My education level now is 92 and my people are living to 62 which is bad. At one point, some of my residential areas were black. I still can't figure why, because they are powered and they have water. Lucas told me that its probably because I didn't have alot of people in my city so I made some connections to some other cities. So overall my city is surviving well.
The zoning around Burdick seems to be mostly single family residential homes. But up the street a little are local businesses like McDonalds, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts. Other businesses like the Air Port Pantry and Dino's Italian Restaurant are around Burdick.
The only industrial area thats closest to Burdick would be Mitchell Airport.
Day 4
Journal Entry
Today my city was doing ultra good. I got to the point where I could buy a Fusion power plant. I gives my city about 2800 mw of power. Now I don't have to worry about power stuff for a while. I bought a bunch of wind mill things to help with pollution. I still need to raise my education and health percentages cause my people have an average IQ of 92 and my people are dying at 62. At least I don't have to worry about money because I'm making $3000 a year.
How a power plant works
The center of a power station is a large generator that extracts energy from fuel. Some power stations burn fossil fuels such as coal, oil, or gas. Nuclear power stations produce energy by splitting apart atoms of heavy materials such as uranium and plutonium. The heat produced is used to turn water into steam at high pressure. The steam turns a windmill-like device called a turbine connected to an electricity generator. http://www.explainthatstuff.com/powerplants.html

Day 5
Journal Entry
Today my city was doing better than ever. I finally expanded my city across my river. Now I'm making $5,000 a year. I didn't even raise my taxes and stuff. My tax rate is only 7%.
Milwaukee's water really comes from one area, Lake Michigan. The water is treated at 2 plants that help treat the water so that we are able to drink. The primary form of treatment is ozonation, in which ozone gas is bubbled through the water. The second form of treatment is the processes of coagulation, settling, and filtration that removes additional particles. Once the water is treated, it is sent through multiple pipes and goes straight to homes, parks, schools, etc.
Day 6
Journal Entry
Today my city was doing even better than yesterday. I was earning $7,000 a year. I fixed all the water problems that I was having across the river at my other city. My electric power is doing excellent because I have a Fusion power plant. I'm almost finished with my city. All I have to do is fix little minor problem like how long my people live and education.

Today my city was doing good. The only problem is that my education level is 95 and its supposed to be at least 100. Also my health is 62 and its supposed to be 75. I build hospitals and schools and stuff and I would let time run for like 5 years and nothing changes. Mr. Skonecki says the smarter the people, the longer they live but nothing is changing with my stuff.
